About me

I have always made collections of my own and love to look at other people’s, from the monumental to the intimate and personal.

For me, the “how and why” a collection came together has always been as important as its contents - is there a linear path to follow through time or does the collection cut across the breadth of the topic? Have items been stumbled upon or sought out? Can the minutiae of daily life be used to reframe the epic? Are there stories and memories, beyond the obvious, to be shared and explored? Who do we trust to tell our stories?

In 2019, having spent 35 years in the world of work, I was presented with the opportunity to pursue my ambition of studying at Art School.

I graduated in July 2022 with a First Class Honours degree in Creative & Cultural Industries (Curation: Exhibition and Events) from Kingston School of Art.

In September 2022, I returned to KSA to study for a Master’s in Museum & Gallery Studies and in October 2023 was awarded a Distinction for my dissertation focusing on the contribution of Irish Migrant Labour to the construction of the Festival of Britain 1951.

I am currently developing a proposal to continue my studies with the aim of undertaking a PhD
